That Guy Is Skinny Fat: Wolverine Hugh Jackmans 2001 Physique Gets anUnexpected Verdict Fr

Comparison is indeed the thief of joy when it comes to fitness. Every individual has different goals, genetics, diet, workout, etc. Social media has made a 225 lbs bench press or a 17-inch biceps appear so normal even when it’s nearly impossible for most people to achieve it throughout their lives. YouTuber Derek of ‘More Plates More Dates’ has been openly talking about the changing fitness standards in the industry for a while now.

Derek was recently invited to the ‘Impact Theory’ podcast hosted by YouTuber Tom Bilyeu. Among various other topics, the duo discussed the varying standards in the fitness industry and how they affect the public. While discussing this, Derek pointed out that Hugh Jackman’s iconic physique from 2001 was actually not that impressive in terms of the fitness standards of this date.

Hugh Jackman’s 2001 physique won’t impress ‘modern bodybuilders’

Derek pointed out in the video that what was once considered the epitome of fitness may no longer hold true in today’s world. The ever-growing usage of steroids has created a false image in the minds of people. Derek talked about this by explaining that people see all kinds of natural as well as enhanced athletes on social media and think of that as a perfectly achievable physique, while it’s clearly not. He pointed out that it’s not the laziness that’s making it difficult to achieve that body, it’s the fake expectations that are fed to them these days.

Giving an example of the same, Derek said, “You thought that Hugh Jackman’s 2001 physique was great? Ask anyone in the fitness industry if that was good..they’d be like that guy is skinny fat. Yeah, not kidding.”

Building upon the same, Bilyeu asked, “Why would that stop someone from getting a physique? because they give up?” Replying to this, Derek said, “Yeah, I just think there are a lot of..there’s a lot of skewing of what people see as a good physique now.”

This was not the first time that Derek discussed Hugh Jackman’s physique. A while ago, along with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, Derek revealed his thoughts on the ‘natty status’ of Hugh Jackman in the movie ‘Wolverine.’

Did Hugh Jackman take any PEDs for Wolverine?

During an episode of the infamous ‘Joe Rogan Experience‘ hosted by the UFC commentator, Rogan, Derek discussed the ‘natty status’ of various athletes and celebrities. It was amidst this discussion that the duo appreciated Jackman’s physique in the movie ‘Wolverine’. Rogan continued by asking, “What do you think a guy gets on to get that big? What kind of stuff?” He further said, “I’ve never got that big. So when you get that big, what are you on?”.

Derek gave his opinion, stating, “Wolverine, I feel his physique was largely low body fat more so than like massive amount of size.” Rogan agreed, “Yeah. That’s a good point”.

The duo finally came to the conclusion that Jackman could have achieved the physique via natural means as there wasn’t anything suspicious visible. Rogan said, “That’s actually achievable.” Derek even pointed out that this is probably the leanest that Jackman has ever been on screen.
