On September 15, 2012, Cecily debuted on Saturday Night Live. The next year, Strong joined the repertory cast, and starting with the season 39 debut, he and Seth Meyers co-anchored the weekly Weekend Update segment. She performed at the Chicago Sketch Fest, Chicago Just for Laughs, New York Sketchfest, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Goodman Theater, Bailiwick Theater, and Mercury Theater along with the all-female improv troupe Virgin Daiquiri. Strong frequently performed at The Second City and iO Chicago.
