Anthony Anderson Health Issue

Anthony Anderson has struggled with diabetes since he first started playing professionally. Anderson told Essence magazine in 2022 that he was so busy at the height of his career that he didn’t pay attention to what he was eating, leading to his diagnosis of diabetes.

He thought back to a night when he was thirsty and noticed a change in his body. He drank a glass of water to satisfy his thirst, but then he had to use the restroom. When this kept happening to Anderson, he finally made an appointment with a doctor the day after it occurred.

His blood sugar was approximately 240, and he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes after the checkup. Anthony claimed his father had experienced similar difficulties.

After receiving the news, Anderson said he made certain adjustments to his routine so that his family would never have to go through what he experienced after his father passed away. A more balanced lifestyle became his norm, and his health improved. When he earned the part in Law & Order, he went to see his friend Al Roker, who connected him with a nutritionist, because he also wanted to lose weight.

Anderson purchased a bicycle and used it for his commute. This is how he was able to shed the roughly 47 pounds that gave him the physique seen in his most recent Instagram post. Together with Get Real About Diabetes, Anderson helped raise awareness about diabetes.
